|Spouse||Cyrus the Great|
Āmitis (Persian: آمیتیس ) was the wife of Cyrus the Great and therefore queen of the Persian Achaemenid Empire. She was the daughter of Astyages, King of Media.[unreliable source?] She may have been sent to Cyrus by Astyages in the same way Astyages sent Mandane to Cambyses I.
The name Amitis means "wise friend" in Old Persian.
