Applied Communication Sciences (ACS), soon to become "Vencore Labs," is a communications and information research and engineering company based in the United States. The company was previously the R&D arm of Telcordia Technologies. It became a wholly owned subsidiary following Ericsson’s acquisition of Telcordia[1][2] in 2012.[3][4] Applied Communication Sciences is legally registered as Vencore Labs, Inc.

In 2013, Applied Communication Sciences became a business of Vencore, Inc.

Applied Communication Sciences is headquartered in Basking Ridge, New Jersey, with additional locations in Red Bank, New Jersey and the Washington, D.C. area.

History[edit]

Applied Communication Sciences' origins are in Bell Labs and the 1984 divestiture of ATT. Subsequently, it operated primarily within Bellcore and Telcordia.

Particular areas of focus include cyber security, data analytics, wireless and mobility applications, advanced software methodologies, network and operations, information assurance, optical networking, application engineering and integration, and smart grid.
