Archer is a 1985 Australian television film about the true story of Archer the first horse to win the Melbourne Cup and his 17-year-old strapper, Dave Power. Filmed in New South Wales' Sydney outskirts, Baulkham Hills, Megalong Valley and Snowy Mountains and Victoria's Melbourne.[1]

Synopsis

A 17-year-old strapper, Dave Power (Brett Climo) and a mighty horse, Archer cross a continent, from Nowra in NSW to Flemington Racecourse, and then win the first Melbourne Cup.
