Aspinal of London is a London designer, manufacturer and retailer of luxury leather goods and accessories for men and women.

Company

Aspinal of London was founded in 2001 by current Chairman Iain Burton. The Creative Director of Aspinal is Mariya Dykalo, who graduated from the Lviv Academy of Art and Design. Aspinal began by designing and manufacturing handmade small leather goods and hand bound leather books using small workshops and artisans in England and Italy. After five years as an online retailer, Aspinal opened its first store in Selfridges, London, and by 2016 Aspinal has opened nine stand-alone stores in London, and stores in Selfridges and Harrods, opening its first international store in Kuwait in January 2013.

Aspinal launched its first handbag 'The Paris Bag' in 2008. It also designs bags for men as well as a wide range of men's and ladies' wallets, accessories, travel bags and travel accessories, office and business accessories such as briefcases. In addition, Aspinal produces stationery items including diaries, journals, photo albums,[1] and other items such as passport holders[2] and other travel accessories.[3]

Marketing

Aspinal created the 'Elizabeth Hurley Bag' in collaboration with the English actress Elizabeth Hurley, and to support the charity "Breast Cancer Awareness".[citation needed] More recently, Aspinal has collaborated with Florence Brudenell Bruce and again Aspinal coincidentally launched its "Mollie Satchel Bag" named after Mollie King of The Saturdays pop group. In 2014 after supplying the Royal Household with leather goods, HRH Prince Andrew made an official visit to the Aspinal head office and design studio.[citation needed]

Aspinal of London has been part of London Fashion Week's published schedule showing its new collections twice a year.[citation needed]

On 9 April 2016 Aspinal launched a collaboration with Chinese actress Yang Mi.[citation needed][4] The Yang Mi bag raises funds for One Foundation, a Chinese charity founded by Jet Li to provide clean water for Chinese children.[citation needed]

Aspinal is the sponsor of the Midhurst Town Cup polo competition, which is a local Polo match played at Cowdray Polo Club, the home of British Polo.[5] Prior to her wedding, a Kate Middleton "Princess Catherine Engagement Doll" was sold, which came with a toy Aspinal bag as an accessory.[6]
