Attymon railway station (Irish: Stáisiún Áth Tíomáin) serves the townland of Attymon in County Galway. It is the smallest station on the Dublin-Galway line consisting of a single platform with no signalling system or waiting room. The building at the station is boarded up and used as a store for line maintenance crew. The station used to link the Dublin-Galway line with a branch line to Loughrea but this has been removed, the line having closed in 1975. WESTRAIL had hoped to reopen the line as a tourist line, but failed to do so. The station once had 3 platforms in operation. A footbridge over the Galway - Dublin track joining 2 of the platforms is now in use in one of Dublin cities commuter railway stations. On a weekday 4 trains serve Attymon station, these are an early morning train to Galway at 07.41, a train to Galway at 09.43, a train to Dublin Hueston at 18.27 and a train to Athlone at 22.36. On Sunday's services include a 10.45am train to Galway, a 13.27 train to Dublin Hueston and a 18.27 train to Dublin Heuston.[1] Residents of Attymon and the surrounding areas have made numerous requests to Iarnród Éireann to stop further trains in Attymon. They have refused to do so.

Attymon Junction station opened on 1 December 1890.[2]
