Gible (フカマル, Fukamaru) is one of the Template:Pokenum fictional species of Pokémon creatures from the multi-billion-dollar[1] Pokémon media franchise – a collection of video games, anime, manga, books, trading cards and other media, created by Satoshi Tajiri. The purpose of Gible in the games, anime and manga, as with all other Pokémon, is to battle both wild Pokémon, untamed creatures encountered while the player passes through various environments, and tamed Pokémon owned by Pokémon trainers.[2]

The name Gible may derive from giblets and nibble. Its Japanese name may be derived from the Japanese terms meaning shark (, fuka) and round or circle (, maru), referring to its round shape.

Biological characteristic

Gible seems to resemble a stout shark with small limbs, a large mouth and two jet-like projections protruding from its head. The female form has no cut in the fin-like crown.

Despite its shark-like appearance, it is in fact a heat-loving Pokémon. It once existed on tropical islands, but moved into cave systems when the climate became much colder, which suggests that Sinnoh was once a tropical region in the distant past.
