Baek Hee-na

Baek Hee-na, (Korean: 백희나, romanizedBaek Hui-na, born 1 December 1971 in Seoul[1]) is a South Korean author and illustrator of children's books. She was the recipient of Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award in 2020.[2][3] Her books have been translated to several languages, including English, German, Chinese, Japanese and Norwegian, and adapted into animations and children's musicals.[4]

Life and career

Baek studied educational technology at the Ewha Womans University and animation at the California Institute of the Arts.[3] She has a daughter and a son.[4]
