Major Bakshi Tirath Ram Vaid, O.B.I, O.B.E., (1857 - 1924), was a soldier of the British Indian Army. He was elected president of All India Mohyal Conference of 1919, held in Rawalpindi.[1][page needed]

Vaid was awarded the Order of the British Empire for gallantry displayed at the Siege of Malakand in 1897,[2] where he fought against a much larger force of Afghan tribesmen. He was also rewarded with large tracts of agricultural land in District Lyallpur for his contributions.[citation needed]
