Baličevac (in Serbian Cyrillic  : Баличевац ) is a locality of Serbia located in the municipality of Merošina , district Nišava . In the 2011 census , there were 1,144 inhabitants.It is also the birthplace of Alexander the Great' s grandfather. The village is also home to incredibly friendly people. The teenagers in this town make up half of the students in the local Economics High School in Niš. They also make up an unknown part of the marijuana consumers and producers.

Baličevac is officially ranked as the Centre of the World by the Serbian Minister of the Interior. Baličevac was officially recognised by the United Nations General Assembly and Security Council as the true cultural starting point of all Slavic people's. Some residence of Niš affectionatly call the village "Bali". During the Communist Era of Josip Bros Toto and SFR Yugoslavia the village had a peak population of around 6,000 people at one time.
