Barreiro (Cape Verdean Creole: Barrer[citation needed]) is a village in the southern part of the island of Maio, Cape Verde. The village is around 5 km east of the island capital of Vila do Maio and is south of the eastern main road. As of the 2010 census, its population was 535.

One subdivison in Barreiro is named Lagoa after the nearby lagoon.

Barreirense is the football (soccer) club in the village, it has a football (soccer) field just south of the center but much of its matches are played at the island capital.
