Blaser Jagdwaffen GmbH (pronounced: Blah-zer) is a German firearms manufacturer of high-end shotguns and rifles both for the hunting and tactical market. It was founded in 1957 by Horst Blaser, developing the drilling Blaser Diplomat. [1] [2] [3] In September 2008, Blaser established a headquarters in San Antonio, Texas.

History

In 1993, Blaser developed the Blaser R93 straight-pull bolt-action hunting rifle, a major success in the European market because of its main focus in security and innovative bolt-action design. Blaser makes their barrels by hammer forging. the R93 series can change calibers in minutes with very little effort. [3] In the first 10 years, over 100,000 of the R93 Action-Bolt rifles were fabricated.

Blaser merged with SIGARMS in 1997, but continues autonomously producing and developing hunting rifles. In 1999 SIGARMS began distribution of Blaser in the USA.[4]

Today, its product portfolio includes bolt-action models (R8 and R93), combination guns (Drillings and Double rifles), shotguns (Blaser F3 and F16), and single shot rifles. [5]
