Bootleg a Bootleg, You Cut Out the Middleman is a live, self-released album by Less Than Jake, recorded in May 1997 in Las Vegas, NV. It was originally recorded for Westwood-1 Radio, hence all the swearing is censored. The station copy was stolen and copies regularly sold on eBay for over $20. Upset that their fans were being exploited, the band obtained a copy and released it themselves.[1]

Initially, the band had planned this disc to be the first in a series of bootlegs officially released by the band, but no other discs followed. In 2007, the band digitally released 5 live shows via Snocap that were recorded between 2001 and 2004, but these shows were not given a physical release and it is unclear if they are meant to be a continuation of Bootleg a Bootleg.
