Bronze medal – third place 1956 Melbourne eights

Brian John Doyle (18 August 1930 – 1 June 2008) was an Australian Olympic medal winning rower who competed in the 1956 Summer Olympics. He attended Xavier College and his senior rowing was with the Mercantile Rowing Club in Melbourne.

In 1956 he was the strokeman of the Australian boat which won the bronze medal in the eights event. In 2010 Doyle was inducted as a member of the Rowing Victoria Hall of Fame. His sons David and Mark Doyle also rowed for Australia in VIIIs, David in men's VIIIs at the 1983 World Championships and the 1986 Commonwealth Games and Mark in the men's VIIIs at the 1986 and 1987 World Championships.
