Brian Stewart (born December 4, 1964 in San Diego, California) is the current defensive backs coach at Nebraska. He has been with Mike Riley for two years in Lincoln. He was formerly the Defensive Coordinator at Maryland. In 2012, he led Maryland's defense to be the 2nd-ranked defense (in yards per game) in the Atlantic Coast Conference, and the 21st-ranked defense in the nation.[1]

Stewart previously held the position of defensive coordinator on the Houston Cougars football team in 2010 and 2011 at the University of Houston.[2] He also held several assistant coaching positions in the NFL, most recently as a Special Assistant to the Defense for the Philadelphia Eagles.[3] Prior to joining the Eagles, he was a defensive coordinator for the Dallas Cowboys.[4]

Personal life

Brian Stewart is married to his wife, Kimberly Stewart and they had 3 kids, Leila, Mya, and Zara, together.
