Assessment

[edit]

How do you decide what is more important? It is very subjective, as it depends on what you are looking for in each case. Specially, about ideologies, religions, parties or theories, which one is more important than another can easily be influenced by personal thought. I arrived here after I noticed an article I considered important was clasified as low important. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.40.227.110 (talk) 2009-09-07T11:42:17

Some WikiProjects offer descriptions for each rate, but this is inherently subjective. --Chealer (talk) 17:17, 12 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

"Importance" of articles?

[edit]

Does it really make sense to categorize articles according to their assumed "importance"? Who has to decide on that issue, and with which legitimation? There is probably no consensus about that matter - If someone asked me I'd call for labelling all sports related articles with "lowest importance imaginable" ... - but I don't really expect all people to agree :-). IMHO it's not even necessary that there is an consensus on importance of articles in the community. The wikipedia users will decide themselves what they consider to be important and what they read; they need no "nanny". Or do you expect anybody to say to himself "Today I'll confine to reading high importance articles? ".--Liutprand (talk) 18:43, 17 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
