[edit]

cenk uyger now used the term Armenian Genocide ceveral times so i think it's fair to remove him

I hope that the person that created this category is aware that this category was deleted many times over the years. For a very simple reason: Are these people "ARMENIAN GENOCIDE deniers" or "Armenian GENOCIDE DENIERS"???

So for example if there is an Armenian denying the Circassian genocide, Azeri genocide or the Jewish Holocaust, we should list them here, right? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.230.24.185 (talk) 19:07, 29 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

So close, but no cigar. You are correct its all in capitalization, This category is about Armenian Genocide deniers. If you think, you can find Armenian genocide deniers, be my guest on creating that category. VartanM (talk) 04:18, 30 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

That's just the tip of the iceberg though, this category is exposing Wikipedia to huge legal liabilities since this category is used for pure defamation by random anon activists who are most probably sockpuppets of banned users anyways. People like Shimon Peres, Madeleine Albright etc regularly get tagged with this category, not to mention all sorts of random Turks - and Wikipedia isn't doing anything to address this problem which has existed for years. If an attorney for any of those people knew about this tomorrow morning they would file a lawsuit against Wikipedia since these categories remain in Bio articles for months on end sometimes. This was talked about before, why is this issue being served again and again like some bad leftover pasta?? This category, AND ET AL, need to be deleted and blocked from re-creation. 82.230.24.185 (talk) 22:40, 29 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Moreover, it is utter IDIOCY and arrogance really. People who are using this category should also add "Evolution DENIER" and/or "Big-bang DENIER" to the bio of every single religious leader on Wikipedia - come on I dare you!!!! To be politically correct: what about adding "God DENIER" to the bio of every atheist on wikipedia? Ah, but who has that kind of courage?? Definitely not the nationalist and disruptive editors who got banned by ArbCom so many times :))) 82.230.24.185 (talk) 02:37, 30 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

While you're at it, would you like the Armenian Genocide article to be deleted and blocked from re-creation? A summary for this category is provided on its page. Hakob (talk) 05:44, 30 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
This category is blatantly POV. It privileges one side of an active area of historical research by calling the other side "deniers" of what is assumed to be true. Even worse, it mimics the phrase "Holocaust denier" as if these scholars are somehow similar to the scum who deny the Holocaust. The category needs to be deleted.--Anthon.Eff (talk) 18:24, 30 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Cenk Uygur needs to be added to this list. Alanakalanian 23:46, 29 December 2016 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Alanakalanian (talkcontribs)

Cenk Uygur

[edit]

Cenk Uygur is no longer an Armenian Genocide denier, so I think he should be removed from this category.--Stephen C Wells (talk) 21:25, 22 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
