Based on the discussion noted above, the closer suggested to try depopulation of members, but leaving the subcats, per a "near-consensus". Please note any concerns. - jc37 09:56, 12 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I read the result a bit differently. A random depopulation is entirely inappropriate. The articles in this category should be either regrouped into the existing subcategories, where appropriate, at a minimum. That's already happened. Someone recently just created Category:Fictional business executives, for example.
