Shouldn't this be better named "Mythical swords"? Many swords of legend may have been based on the heirlooms of historical kings & heros of prehistory. Especially in northern Europe, it was a common practice to name ones sword. 67.5.158.77 17:12, 12 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I think mythological swords should be separated from swords in modern popular culture fiction as subcategories of this main category. Swords from cultural folklore and ones created by the imaginations of contemporary writers should not be considered of the same manner of interest. 4.255.49.98 (talk) 09:06, 26 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
