Confusing category[edit]

What is a "national curling cup"? Currently the only two items in the category are Category:Russian Men's Curling Cup, which is the Russian National Championship and Category:Canada Cup of Curling, which is not a National Championship but simply a major tournament. There is already a category Category:National curling championships where the Russian Men's Curling Cup belongs. I don't understand the purpose of this category and suspect that it is unneeded and should be deleted. A202985 (talk) 18:55, 4 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

"National curling cup" is the same kind of annual national sport competition as, for example, "National association football cup" (do you listen about such competitions? we can see a big lot of in Category:National association football cups - 112 subcategories and 249 pages for today). About "Russian Curling Cup" - it's a mistake (I don't know who did it) to create redirect Russian Men's Curling Cup to Russian Curling Championships, "Russian Curling Cup" is a different events (two events - separately for men and women hael in different dates) held in November or December (but Championship - separately for men and women - held in March or April). I'll try in near future to create "main" article "Russian Curling Cup" (with two parts into it - about men's and women's cups). My English is "not the best" but I hope you understand me ;) -- Alexey Gustow (talk) 17:09, 5 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for explaining that the Russian Curling Cup is different than the National Championship, that's where I was confused. I understand now! A202985 (talk) 17:58, 5 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
