A New Article

[edit]

Hello, my name is Anniina and I am an undergraduate at Rice University. I am planning to create a new article on Sexual Violence in Finland. This is for a class: Poverty Justice and Human Capabilities. I am planning on adding sections on statistics, types, the law as well as some other sections (my outline isn't complete yet). Does anyone have advice or opinions on what I should or should not include? Any help and tips would be very appriciated. Thank you! @AAla-Seppälä: You should probably look how similar articles are build: searching for "Sexual violence in" results in Sexual violence in South Africa, Sexual violence in Haiti, Sexual violence in Papua New Guinea and Sexual violence in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Also, several "Rape in X" articles exist. There is no article about sexual violence in the United States, but instead it is a redirect to Rape in the United States.
The title Rape in Finland is currently a redirect to Crime in Finland subsection (which is really short). I don't know which title, sexual violence or rape is better. Redirects can be edited to be full articles. --Pudeo' 22:11, 24 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I recommend sexual violence over rape as it is a broader term and recognizes that rape is part of a continuum of types of sexual violence.DStrassmann (talk) 16:02, 6 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
