Chainpur block, one of the eleven administrative blocks of Gumla district, Jharkhand state, India, has a population (1991 census) of 44,573. The block comprises eighty-three villages.Lies bordered with Chhattisgarh, also is on the way to reach Tanginath Shrine. Lies within it are many historical places like Raja Dera and similars.
