Charles Christopher Adams (18731955) was an American zoologist, born at Clinton, Illinois, and educated at Illinois Wesleyan University, Harvard, and the University of Chicago.

Occupationally, in one way or another, his time was spent with animals. He was employed at the Cincinnati Society of Natural History and the Museum of the University of Cincinnati (1906— 1907). He was assistant professor of forest zoology at Syracuse University (1914—1916) and director of the Roosevelt Wild Life Forest Experiment Station (from 1919).

Besides numerous papers on animal ecology, he published:

  • An Ecological Survey of Isle Royal, Lake Superior, in collaboration (1909)
  • Guide to the Study of Animal Ecology (1915)
  • An Ecological Study of Forest and Prairie Invertebrates (1915)
  • Variations and Ecological Distribution of the Snails of the Genus IO (1915)
