Dr. Charles Platkin Is a nutrition and public health advocate, a professor at Hunter College in NYC, and City University of New York School of Public Health,[1][2] author of Breaking the Pattern[3] and The Automatic Diet[4]), blogger for Active.com[5] and Everydayhealth.com.[6] Platkin also publishes an annual Airline Snacking and Onboard Food Service Survey with health ratings for 12 domestic airlines,[7][8][9][10][11][12][13][14][15][16][17][18][19] and Super Bowl exercise equivalents where football related activities are compared to foods typically eaten while watching the game (e.g., Six Chili's Fajita Beef Classic Nachos (Large)=Running 242.5 football fields.),[20][21][22][23][24][25][26][27][28]

Platkin also has a syndicated health, nutrition, and fitness column called Diet Detective in newspapers and online in the U.S., and blog, DietDetective.com [29][30][31][32][33][34][35][36] Platkin was also the host and executive producer[37] of WE TV's series, I Want To Save Your Life.[38][39]

Dr. Platkin is a co-founder and strategic adviser at Diversion Books, an eBook publisher.[40] Additionally, he was the founder of Integrated Wellness Solutions—a health technology company.
