Major General A.W.J. Chryshantha De Silva, USP, ndc, psc, SLE is a Sri Lankan general, who is the current Military Secretary, Sri Lanka Army General Staff.[1]

Educated at the Royal College, Colombo, De Silva joined the Sri Lanka Army as an Officer Cadet in February 1980. After basic training he was commissioned into the Sri Lanka Engineers as a Second Lieutenant in 1981. During his military career he served as the Commandant of the SLEME training School in Embilipitiya, Brigade Commander of the 56-2 and 51-2 Brigades, Assistant Military Secretary, Director Operations and Director Plans at Army Headquarters and Commander Forward Maintenance Area, Wanni. He was a member of military delegations to Malaysia and China.

General De Silva is a graduate of the Staff College, Camberley and the National Defence University of Indonesia. He has undertaken training at PLA Nanjing Army Command College; Asia-Pacific Center for Security Studies and at the Army War College, Mhow. He was awarded the Uttama Seva Padakkama (USP), the Sri Lanka Armed Services Long Service Medal, the Purna Bhumi Padakkama and the North and East Operations Medal.
