Concordia University Irvine is a private liberal arts university located in Irvine, California, United States and affiliated with the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod. It offers both undergraduate and graduate degrees in six colleges and is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. Founded in 1976 as Christ College, Irvine, it had an enrollment of 1,749 students in the 2004–05 academic year. Starting in Fall 2010, they implemented a Core curriculum for underclassmen.
Athletics
Concordia–Irvine teams, nicknamed athletically as the Eagles, are part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), primarily competing in the Golden State Athletic Conference (GSAC). Men's sports include Track and Field, baseball, basketball, cross country, golf, soccer, swimming, tennis and water polo; while women's sports include Track and Field, basketball, cross country, golf, soccer, softball, swimming, tennis, volleyball and water polo.
