Cora-Ann Mihalik (born c. 1954) is a former television news anchor and reporter who was best known for her role as co-anchor and news reporter for Fox WNYW and My 9 WWOR since 1987. Her career at Fox/My 9 concluded in 2011 when her contract expired.[1]

A party was held where many of her colleagues gave their farewells. Mihalik lives in New York with her family.

Background

Cora-Ann Mihalik grew up in Elmwood Park, New Jersey and graduated in 1972 from Elmwood Park Memorial High School.[2] She attended William Paterson University with hopes of becoming a Spanish interpreter, but a professor suggested she find a career in journalism.[3]

Career

She graduated William Paterson University and from there went to many networks. She began in WGGB-TV in Springfield, Mass., then solely owned by ABC. She moved to WHP-TV in Harrisburg. After Harrisburg, she continued her career in Cleveland for WJKW. Following her short stay in Cleveland, she moved to WTCN in Minneapolis where she was the first female news anchor. From there she went to WLS-TV in Chicago. She later landed a permanent position with Fox News in 1987. At WNYW, she was used as a news anchor and a fill-in anchor for A Current Affair. Following maternity leave in 1998 she returned to work solely at My 9 WWOR until 2011.[4]

Charity

Mihalik has been part of numerous charity organizations and has anchored many telethons for years. Some include; The Leukemia Televent and the Jerry Lewis Telethon For Muscular Dystrophy.[5] [6]
