Cristian Pity Álvarez is an Argentine rock musician born June 28 in 1972 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He was raised at the Piedrabuena Complex, western part of the city.

In 1993, Pity became part of a Stone Rock band: Viejas Locas, from which he left in the year 2000, to establish Intoxicados: the band he leads in the present, although as of early 2009 it has been speculated that he might return to his former band.

Intoxicados

After a two-year hiatus, Álvarez began playing with his actual band: Intoxicados. In the year 2001, Intoxicados released its first album: "Buen día", which followed the same artistic line as Viejas Locas previous works, but they also experimented with other genres such as punk and reggae. Intoxicados can be clearly distinguished from Viejas Locas, as they don't plays so much rock and roll, but they also show interest in other music genres. During Intoxicados first show in the year 2001 at Cemento, the band played mostly Viejas Locas songs and some of their own. In the year 2003, the group released their second album: "No es sólo rock and roll" which confirms the musical opening of the group. On this album they dedicated a song to Muddy Waters which is called "De a ratitos". In 2005 they released "Otro día en el planeta tierra". The band has reached important audience numbers, crowding several times the Estadio Obras Sanitarias and three times the Luna Park Stadium[citation needed].

Present

Álvarez suffers from personal crisis due to his irregular health state. By the end of 2006, he announced in a radio show called Tiempos Violentos that he would be interning himself in order to treat his addiction to drugs.

No official sources state that Intoxicados' frontman has ever interred himself in any hospital.

In September 2007, they played at the Pepsi Music (an important international rock festival in Argentina). While the welfare of the band depends on Pity's "mood swings", it appears that he is making an effort, not to stay away from the drugs, but at least to stay sober enough in order to be able to lead his band[citation needed].

Their fourth album is on sale, it's called "Exilio de las especies" and Pity claims that it is the last in a trilogy started by"No es solo rock n' roll". This album contains songs as "Pila pila" and "Casi sin pensar". A special edition can be purchased which contains space to accommodate the band's whole discography.

In the summer of 2010, he swollowed 5 viagras and he was interned for 24 hours. Then he was diagnosed that he couldn't use his penis for the rest of his life.[1][2]
