The novel garnered positive reviews by readers and critics, achieved success, and is considered one of the most significant Topčić's works.[citation needed] The Czech translation (Dagmar, For Prague, Prague) was published in 2017 and was ranked first on the list of bestsellers in the Czech Republic.[citation needed]
The story is based on e-mails of Dagmar Veškrnova-Havlova, wife of former Czech President Václav Havel, and Bosnian writer dr. Oscar Feraget. Dagmar is considered a continuation of Topčić's novel Final Word, although it also functions as an independent novel.
