Danielle Louise Macdonald is an Australian actress.[1]

Early life

Macdonald attended the Australian Institute for Performing Arts in Naremburn, New South Wales.[2]

Career

At 18, Macdonald moved to Los Angeles in 2010 to pursue an acting career.[2] She was originally booked for the role of Becca on ABC's show Huge, but her visa did not come in on time and she was unable to fulfill the role.[3] Her first feature film was The East, premiered at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival.

Macdonald is known for her starring role in the 2015 movie Every Secret Thing, alongside Dakota Fanning, Diane Lane,[1] and Elizabeth Banks.[1][4][5] Regarding Every Secret Thing, Katherine Pushkar from the New York Daily News wrote, "The film actually belongs to Danielle Macdonald, effective as cruel, jealous Alice."[6]

Macdonald also had a supporting role in the film Trust Me.

In 2016, she appeared in the season finale of American Horror Story: Roanoke as Bristol Windows.

In 2017, Macdonald stars in Patti Cake$ as an aspiring rapper in New Jersey.[2]

Macdonald will star opposite Jennifer Aniston in a film adaptation of young adult novel Dumplin' by Julie Murphy.[7]
