Daughters of Mary The Congregation of the Daughters of Mary is a missionary congregation in the Syro-Malankara Catholic Church. With the blessing of Archbishop Mar Ivanios, Monsignor Joseph Kuzhinjalil founded the missionary congregation of the Daughters of Mary in 1938 at Marthandom in Kanyakumari District. The primary mission of the Congregation is to bring the Good News to the poor and neglected. The Congregation was raised to Pontifical Status in 1988. At present, it has 4 provinces and 2 vice provinces serving the six eparchies of the Syro-Malankara Catholic Church and 20 other dioceses world wide.

It is to be noted that the congregation was started following the support provided by the Syro Malabar Catholic church, who generously provided their young religious women to join the new order. Mon. Kuzhinjalil, the founder himself originally belonged to the Syro Malabar church.
