Geography

Deccan Plateau, is a plateau located between two mountain ranges, the Western Ghats and the Eastern Ghats, each of which rises from its respective nearby coastal plain. It is separated from the Gangetic plain to the north by the Satpura and Vindhya Ranges, which form its northern boundary. Note: Deccan Peninsula, is the peninsular India located south of the Satpura and Vindhya Ranges. It comprises the East and West Coasts and Plains, Eastern and Western Ghats and the Deccan Plateau.
