Del Carmen is one of 29 barangays or villages in the municipality of San Jose, Camarines Sur in the Philippines. [1] It belongs to the municipality's poblacion or central district.

Geography and demographics

Barangay Del Carmen is classified as an urban place and is composed of 8 puroks or zones. It is generally described as plain with a total land area of 31.721700 hectares. It is bounded to the north by Maroon Creek, Sta. Cruz, south by Provincial Road, San Juan, east by Palale, and in the west by National Road, San Vicente. Its major sources of livelihood is agriculture (farming) and employment both in public and private enterprises/establishments. It has a total population of 640.

Government

Elected barangay officials are as follows: Edmundo R. Rivero-Punong Barangay and the barangay councilors are: Jeffrey D. Ortiz, Elmer G. Pasit, Joseph R. Peña Jr., Fred F. Bares, Rommel G. Sarmiento, Filipina P. Saballegue, and Alejandro F. Bares. The appointed barangay secretary and treasurer are: Maria P. Federis and Ma. Isabel D. Atole, respectively.
