Deliver Us from Evil (Korean: 다만 악에서 구하소서; RR: Daman Akeseo Goohasoseo) is a 2020 South Korean action film[3] written and directed by Hong Won-Chan, starring Hwang Jung-min, Lee Jung-jae and Park Jung-min. The film follows In-nam, a hitman who plans to retire after completing a final hit, but finds himself linked to a kidnapping case in Thailand and targeted by Ray, the man whose sibling he assassinated. The film was shot in Thailand, Korea and Japan, with almost 80 percent of the filming done in Thailand.[4] It marks the reunion of Hwang and Lee after their 2013 film New World.[5]
Initially scheduled to open in early July, the film was released in South Korean cinemas on 5 August 2020.[6][7]
Synopsis

In-nam is a hitman who has completed his last hit and plans to retire. He soon learns of a kidnapping case in Thailand, and that the case is somehow related to him. Heading to Thailand, he teams up with his helper Yoo-Yi to work on the kidnapping case. However, he soon finds himself hunted down by a vengeful Ray, the man whose sibling he assassinated.

Deliver Us From Evil made $14.9 million over its five-day opening weekend in South Korea.[8] It surpassed 1.5 million ticket sales in four days of its release, and 2 million in its first weekend.[9][10] On the eighth day of its release, the film passed the 2.5 million viewer mark.[11]
