"Deutschland" (German for "Germany") is a song by German band Rammstein. It was released as the lead single from the band's upcoming untitled seventh studio album. It was their first piece of new music released since "Mein Land" in 2011. "Deutschland" became Rammstein's second number-one single in Germany[1] after "Pussy" that was number one for them in 2009.

Music video

The video was directed by Specter Berlin and was released online on 28 March 2019 at 18:00 CET[2] following a 35-second preview[3] for the video two days prior. The video preview sparked criticism a few hours after release. The dark, violent, even macabre video, typical for the band, features various events from Germany’s history,[4] including Roman times, the Middle Ages, the World Wars and the Cold War; and fantasy scenes set in outer space. German actress Ruby Commey also appears throughout the video and is credited as Germania. The introduction features Jóhann Jóhannssons song "The Beast" from the movie "Sicario", while the ending credits feature a piano version of the band's 2001 single "Sonne".
