Dino Beširović (Serbo-Croatian pronunciation: [dîːno běʃiːroʋitɕ]; born 31 January 1994) is a Bosnian professional footballer who plays as a defensive midfielder for 1. HNL club Hajduk Split and the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team.

Club career

Early career

Beširović was born in Viseu, Portugal, and he started playing football at the local club, Académico de Viseu.[2]

However, he signed first professional contract in February 2015 with Bosnian club Radnik Bijeljina. Later that month, he made his debut in a home loss against Široki Brijeg.[3] On 15 March, Beširović scored first goal of his career in a convincing win against Slavija.[4] He became club's captain in 2017.[5]

Hajduk Split

In June 2018, Beširović signed a three-year contract with Croatian side Hajduk Split for an undisclosed fee.[6] He made his debut for the club in a league defeat against Osijek on 29 July.[7] In a UEFA Europa League qualifier against Slavia Sofia on 2 August, he suffered a serious knee injury, that required a surgery and ruled him out for most of the season.[8]

International career

Beširović got his first senior call-up in August 2017, for a 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying game against Cyprus.[9] He debuted in a friendly game against United States on 28 January 2018, which ended in a 0–0 draw.[10]

Personal life

Beširović's father, Nail, was also a footballer, who played professionally in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Portugal.[11]
