Dontae Johnson (born December 1, 1991)[1] is an American football cornerback for the San Francisco 49ers of the National Football League (NFL). He was drafted by the 49ers in the fourth round of the 2014 NFL Draft. He played college football at NC State.

Early years

Johnson transferred to The Pennington School after having attending South Plainfield Public Schools through his freshman year of high school.[2] He was selected to the New Jersey all-prep first-team.[3] He had 108 tackles, 6 interceptions along with 3 forced fumbles in his senior season.[3] He also played AAU basketball in high school.[3]

College career

In his Junior season, He was selected ACC Defensive Back of the Week for his performance against Wake Forest on November 12, 2012.[4] In 2014, He was invited to the 2014 Senior Bowl as a member of the North team.[5]

Professional career

Johnson was selected by the San Francisco 49ers in the fourth round (129th overall) of the 2014 NFL Draft.[6]

Johnson recorded his first interception and touchdown in a game against the Rams on October 13, 2014. He picked off Austin Davis and returned it 20 yards for the touchdown, helping to seal the win for the 49ers.[7]
