Ace Degenarate is the first episode of the action karate series Cobra Kai which is a sequel to The Karate Kid movies from 1984 - 1989 and focuses on Johnny Lawrence and Daniel LaRusso's lives after the events of the movies, the episode premiered on May 2, 2018.

Plot

34 years after the All-Valley Tournament of 1984, Johnny Lawrence is now a poor employed handyman living in Reseda Flats, hating his more successful rival Daniel LaRusso's new auto car dealership and going around fixing people's houses, 1 day he gets fired from his job for insulting the owner of a house even though he didn't even insult her.

Johnny during this also meets his new neighbor, Ecuadorian Miguel Diaz who has moved to Reseda. That night, Lawrence gets some dinner from the local supermarket and runs into Miguel again buying some pepto bismol, at the same time, the 2 run into local rich kid Kyler Park and his friends Brucks, Rory & A.J. Who throw out and beat up Miguel because of a failed attempt at buying beer from the supermarket. Johnny, seeing this, rescues Diaz and beats up the 4 bullies but also gets arrested along the way.

A few days later, Johnny is released from prison and goes back to his apartment were he sees his stepfather Sid Weinberg and his assistant Rhonda at the house, Sid berates Johnny for his mistakes and him having to always bail Johnny out, along with mentioning the passing of his mother and talking about his son Robby before finally giving Johnny a check and telling him that after this, he is going to disown him, Johnny however refuses the check but keeps it as Sid leaves, Miguel tries to then tell Johnny to teach him karate however Lawrence refuses.

That night, Johnny drives his car and parks it near a cliff, whilst he is drinking, his car gets accidentally hit by 3 girls, Moon, Yasmine & Sam who quickly run away before Johnny could do anything to them. The next day, Johnny tows his now destroyed car to LaRusso Auto Dealership and whilst leaving, runs into Daniel LaRusso, who reunites with Johnny, introducing his business associates Louie LaRusso Jr & Anoush, after the discussion, Johnny notices Daniel has a daughter, Samantha LaRusso and recognizes her as 1 of the girls who was in the car that destroyed his, causing him to angrily leave the place and return to Reseda.

When he returns, Miguel asks Johnny if he could be his sensei, Johnny replies with yes and later, shaves his beard and mustache and opens up the Cobra Kai dojo on a strip mall in Reseda Flats, also becoming Sensei Lawrence and making Miguel his first Cobra Kai karate student.
