Afro Drill is a music genre created around the year 2020, It is a fusion of between UK Drill music and Baile Funk music, with songs such as 'Packs and Potions' by HAZEY bringing it popularity.
This genre however is mainly defined by the instrumentals more so than the artists, with pioneers such as Sphero, 256 Minaj, KYXXX and others, this sound has reached the masses and has brang UK Drill to a worldwide audience. In UK drill, producers use a lot of hi hats also known as countersnares, whereas in Afro Drill, they use bongos with a very distinct pattern. It is said that afro drill is a lot harder to make as the sound selections is very hard to get perfect, with only a select few actually managing to pull it off correctly. Afro Drill is an ecxiting and bouncier version of drill which has taken tiktok by storm in the recent years as it is very danceable music.
