Andrei Irimia is a Romanian pianist and composer, based in Bucharest.
Biography
[edit]Andrei Irimia was born in 1987, in Constanța. He has played the piano since age 8. He studied many musical styles in his formative years. In his 20s he started composing his music. He began some experimental productions where he tried different styles. He finally released his debut EP Nuit Minimaliste in 2019, a solo piano work. He uses piano compositions to express his ideas and feelings.
In 2022, he reached an important milestone in his career with the release of his second album, All Strings Attached. For 2024 Irimia is planning to release his third album, called Necessary End.
In the spring of 2024, he played sold-out concerts at many philharmonics in Romania. He also performed successful concerts in London and Paris. His Lights and Shadows[1] tour will continue across Europe with stops in London, Vienna, Berlin, Brussels and Paris.
Irimia played at festivals like Jazz in the Park and Jazz Cave Festival. He also played at JazzUP Sea Fest and has a show at Summerwell 2024.
In 2021, at the Gopo Gala, National Theatre Bucharest, he launched the song Pasărea fericirii,[2] in collaboration with actor Marius Manole. He opened the "Timișoara 2023" Gala with Joep Beving and was the sole Romanian act at Sziget Festival 2023 and Eurosonic ESNS.
In 2012, Irimia began conceptualizing Piano Collage, blending his piano music with cinematic imagery. He hosted Ça c'est Classique on art7.fm from 2016 to 2018. Since 2015, he has been an editor for the George Enescu Festival.[3]
Numerous soundtracks for advertising, short films, and various corporate projects are among his other works.
