Andrew Van Arsdale
[edit]Andrew Jacob Van Arsdale (born August 2, 1981), also known as AVA, is an American lawyer specializing in personal injury law and survivor advocacy. He is the founding attorney of AVA Law Group, Inc., a nationwide personal injury law firm based in Billings, Montana, and San Diego, California.[1]
Van Arsdale represents over 10,000 clients who have filed sexual abuse claims against the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) as part of the organization’s bankruptcy proceedings.[2] He also represents clients involved in lawsuits related to toxic water exposure at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.[3]
Van Arsdale serves as co-counsel in civil cases against music producer Sean Combs representing hundreds of claimants with allegations of abuse and misconduct.[4] His work through the Abused in Scouting (AIS) initiative, which supports survivors of BSA abuse, has been covered by CNN, ABC News, and NBC News.[3]
Early Life and Education
Van Arsdale was born in Billings, Montana, where he was also raised. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in History from Montana State University, Bozeman, and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of San Diego School of Law.[1][5]
Legal Career
Van Arsdale was admitted to practice law in California, Nevada, and Montana in 2018. The following year, he established AVA Law Group, headquartered in Billings, Montana, and San Diego, California. The firm handles cases related to personal injury, medical malpractice, sexual abuse, and product liability.[1]
Notable Cases and Advocacy
[edit]Sean "Diddy" Combs Civil Cases: Van Arsdale acts as co-counsel in civil cases against Sean Combs, representing individuals alleging abuse. His firm, along with attorney Tony Buzbee, represents numerous claimants, some of whom have filed criminal and civil charges.[4]
Abused in Scouting Initiative: Through the Abused in Scouting (AIS) initiative, Van Arsdale represents survivors of abuse in the Boy Scouts of America. AIS supports individuals claiming abuse by Scoutmasters and other volunteers, with allegations that the BSA retained secret “perversion files” detailing misconduct.[3]
Camp Lejeune Toxic Water Cases: AVA Law Group represents claimants affected by toxic water contamination at Camp Lejeune, focusing on victims’ rights in cases of chemical exposure at the military base.[3]
GLP-1 receptor agonists (GLP-1RA) Lawsuit: Van Arsdale’s firm represents clients who claim harm from diabetes medications Ozempic and Mounjaro, which are under litigation for alleged side effects.[6]
