Antonius Alexander Tigor Sibarani is an Indonesian British-educated lawyer [1] He is a Chevening scholar, a global UK government scholarship with more than 160 countries network[2]. He frequently speaks at international conferences and forums around the globe [3] and the General Manager of Legal Corporate Governance at Telkomsel, a joint venture between Telkom Indonesia and Singapore’s SingTel [4]. With over 15 years of experience, he works closely with the board and other company leaders to provide realistic and effective legal and compliance support. He ensures the company adheres to legal and ethical standards, especially in the dynamic telecom industry.[4]

In 2023, he was assisting in the legal completion of the spin-off of Telkomsel’s broadband integration services, valued at $3.9 billion.[5]. The integration allowed the public to access broader broadband services, providing a seamless experience for customers and promoting digital inclusion. Antonius emphasizes the importance of effective communication, emotional intelligence, empathy, delegation, and leading by example in leadership[4]

Education[edit]

Antonius was a gifted student who received a bachelor of law with national gifted track enrolment at Diponegoro University and then went to London to study law. In London, he studied at the Technology Media and Telecommunication Law Institute, Queen Mary University of London [6]. He graduated in 2017 with an LL.M in Technology Media and Telecommunication Law, which was fully funded by the Chevening Scholarship.

In 2023, he was recognised by the British Ambassador for outstanding contribution and education as a Chevening Alumni in Indonesia. In March 2024, The British Council gave Antonius a finalist in the Study UK Alumni Awards due to his impact on bridging the gap between the UK and Indonesia in academic and technological spheres by assisting Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in protecting and securing their intellectual property rights, at no cost.[1]
