Mr. Anup R. Kodape is a research scholar and researcher in Botany and environmental sciences. Currently pursuing a Ph.D. in AcSIR under the guidance of Dr. Vivek Babu C.S. (Principal Scientist) in a department of Food Protectants and Infestation Control (FPIC), CSIR-Central Food Technological Research Institute (CSIR-CFTRI), Mysore, KA, 570020, India. Anup's academic journey has been marked by exceptional achievements and commitment to advancing scientific knowledge. He qualified for UGC NET JRF in 2019, demonstrating high proficiency and understanding in his chosen field. In 2021, he qualified GATE examination, further attesting to his academic progress.

From 2020 to 2021, Anup served as a Junior Research Fellow at CSIR-National Environmental Engineering Research Institute (CSIR-NEERI), Nagpur, MH, 440020, India, in a department of Health and toxicity Cell under the guidance of Dr. Krishnamurthi Kannan (Chief Scientist and HOD) where he did research projects centered on utilizing microalgae (Chlorella spp.) for air pollution control and wastewater management. His work during this period demonstrated his expertise in environmental science and highlighted his contributions to sustainable solutions for pressing environmental challenges.

From 2018 to 2019, Anup assumed the role of Assistant Professor at Hislop College, Nagpur. He played a pivotal role in shaping the academic and intellectual growth of his students. Anup's ability to communicate complex scientific concepts and instill a passion for learning were the standout features of his tenure.

Three significant publications distinguish Anup's contributions to the academic profile. His research paper on "Metagenomic insights of fungal diversity of peanuts under storage conditions and mitigation of aflatoxigenic fungi through competitive exclusion and phytochemicals."[1] This paper delves into the intricate world of fungal diversity within stored peanuts, exploring innovative strategies for mitigating aflatoxin contamination. Anup's research sheds light on the complex interactions that occur within peanut ecosystems and offers practical solutions for ensuring food safety and security. Moreover, Anup has made significant contributions to the field through his research paper titled "Anabaena azollae culture water, a source for bioremediation[2]" showcases his expertise in agricultural microbiology, emphasizing the potential of this cyanobacterial strain as a sustainable agricultural input. Additionally, Anup authored a book chapter on "Aflatoxins: A Postharvest Associated Challenge and Mitigation Opportunities[3]," showcasing his comprehensive understanding of mycotoxin research and its implications on food safety.

Recognizing his outstanding contributions to the scientific community, Anup was honored with the Young Scientist Award at OCAEBGD 2022 in Goa, a prestigious accolade that acknowledges his innovative and impactful research endeavors. Additionally, his adeptness in communicating scientific findings is further acknowledged with the Second-Best Poster Award in 2022.

Currently holding the position of Senior Research Fellow (since 2022) at CSIR-CFTRI, Mysore, Anup is immersed in cutting-edge research focused on aflatoxins in peanuts and developing effective mitigation strategies through essential oils and biocontrol agents. His work in this area holds great promise for enhancing food safety standards in oilseeds.

Anup Kodape's academic and professional journey is a testament to his unwavering dedication to advancing scientific knowledge and finding sustainable solutions to critical challenges in agriculture and the environment. His impressive track record of publications, awards, and current research focus highlight his status as a promising and influential figure in his field.
