Career

[edit]

Wali held the position of President/CEO at Provenance Hotels for 15 years, during which he expanded the company from five to fifteen hotels.[6] Under his leadership, the team grew to 1,500 members, and the brand gained recognition and awards on a national level. The company's annual revenue exceeded $150 million.[7]

Wali has worked in the hospitality industry for over 30 years. He worked at Starwood Hotels and later led global acquisitions and development at Grand Heritage Hotels.[8][9]

In 2016, Wali and Portland hotelier Gordon Sondland had their names added as sponsors of a Donald J. Trump fundraiser without their approval.[10][11] Wali denied any links with the fundraiser and confirmed that he in fact was neither hosting nor attending any fundraisers for the Trump campaign in Seattle or Portland.[12][13]
