Draft:CV Kondang Murah

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Based on information from its subsidiary, in 1962, CV. Kondang Murah began as a modest family-owned business.[1]. Founded by Himawan Salim Harjo, a businessman from Surakarta, CV. Kondang Murah began its operations by selling wood and furniture [2]. Eventually, the business grew to become known by the population of Surakarta. Their land located in Serengan, Surakarta remains one of the largest office/warehouse to have been built in the center of the city. Around 2010s, CV. Kondang Murah acquired a facility located in the Industrial Site of Wijaya Kusuma, and an additional facility in Grogol, allowing for larger production capacity.

Business Operations

[edit]

Over the first 50 years, CV. Kondang Murah manages to remain in business through lucrative export activities and active local sales. During the 1998 Anti-Chinese Riot in Indonesia, a fire threat in the warehouse of CV. Kondang Murah led to major financial losses for Himawan S.H.. Later in 2017, CV. Kondang Murah changed its legal structure to PT Kondang Murah Makmur Sejahtera [3]

Controversies

[edit]

Kondang Murah is suspected to have been involved in tax frauds from newsletters in 2016 and 2017.[4] Further interview with the directors suggests an accounting error conducted by an employee that was due to the absence of an accountant in the business, leading to the suspected employee recording the funds received from a bank loan as revenue.[5] Sources from previous employees suggest that Kondang Murah may had been a target of the Indonesian government for taxes over the years due to incompetent record-keeping activities that are considered outdated.
