Downton Abbey 3 is an upcoming historical drama film and a sequel to the 2021 film Downton Abbey: A New Era. The film will be written by Julian Fellowes, creator and writer of the TV series Downton Abbey, and directed by Simon Curtis. Much of the original series' cast, which also appeared in the previous two films, will return, with Paul Giamatti and Dominic West reprising their roles as Harold Levinson from the TV series and Guy Dexter from the second film respectively and Joely Richardson, Alessandro Nivola, Simon Russell Beale and Arty Froushan joining the cast.
The film will be released by Focus Features in the United States and Universal Pictures internationally.

Production
[edit]On May 13, 2024, Focus Features and Carnival Films announced that production on a third Downton Abbey film was officially underway, with much of the original cast returning. Dominic West was announced to be reprising his role as Guy Dexter from the second film, with Paul Giamatti reprising his role as Harold Levinson from the TV series. Joely Richardson, Alessandro Nivola, Simon Russell Beale and Arty Froushan joined the cast in undisclosed roles.[1]
