Eastman Richard (1868-1933) was a Muscogee entrepreneur and philanthropist known for his remarkable rise from poverty to prosperity in the state of Oklahoma. Born into humble beginnings in the Indian Territory, Richard defied government restrictions to build a multimillion-dollar fortune through shrewd business acumen and relentless perseverance.

As a member of the Snake Indian community, Richard faced challenges due to government policies limiting access to resources and opportunities. However, he overcame these obstacles, establishing successful ventures in merchandising, ranching, farming, and oil investments. His entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to economic empowerment transformed him into one of the wealthiest individuals in Oklahoma.^[1]

Richard's philanthropic efforts included investments in education, infrastructure, and employment opportunities in his community of Richardville and the surrounding area. He employed many members of his community in his various business ventures, providing them with opportunities for financial stability and growth.
