El Patito Feo (English: The Ugly Duckling) is a Spanish animated series loosely based on The Ugly Duckling by Hans Christian Andersen created by Josep Viciana[2].

Plot

[edit]

Each episode opens with some young animals grouping to listen to Mitriani, a moose, as he tells the story of The Ugly Duckling and his life and adventures around the farm.

  • Nico: A piglet who is Ugly's best friend who often accompanies him in the show.
  • Patty: Ugly's girlfriend. A young and beautiful paw who works as an actress on television and occasionally visits the farm. Ugly met her after saving her from being caught by the hunters and taking care of her until she gets better. As she was blind she never saw the face of Ugly, in this Apollo seizing the chance lied to her telling you saved her, but in the end she ended up discovering the truth. At the end of the series she marries Ugly
  • Apollo: A young man duck bully and Ugly's biggest enemy at school. He hates Ugly and is always doing everything to mistreat and untangle him. Just as he is also in love with Paty coming to have lied about having saved her from the hunters. Although it is shown the major Apollo deep down is weak and fearful. He's always accompanied by Ploff.
  • Ploff: A flamingo who is Apollo's dim-witted best friend and partner in crime He works with Apollo to try to bully Ugly and Nico but most of the time he fails.
  • Mario: A green duck who wears a necktie is Ugly and the quad triplets' father. He likes to walk around the farm and write notes.
  • The Quadtriplets: Carlitos Juanito Richardito and Richardito Are Ugly's brothers who often play pranks on him and sometimes Apollo and call him names.
  • Cati: a female duck who wears a hat Ugly and quad triplet mother she loves her children very including and shows some concern around them whenever things get bad.
  • Marino: A rooster who often wakes up the farm and is very protective of his son Pip and quite strong whenever weasels try to wreak mischief.

  • Pio: A small baby chick who often follows in his father's footsteps
  • Candid: A rabbit who often takes photos.
  • Anastasio'Bold text': Nico's father who is a blacksmith of the farm.
  • June and Juliet: Two rabbits who wear different bow colors and are often flirtatious with Apollo and sometimes join him in mocking Ugly and Nico.
  • Zeppelin: A bird who often delivers mail to the farm and shows what's going on in the forest.
  • Pythagoras: An old goat who is a teacher at Ugly's school and often teaches the class about something and doesn't seem to have a good relationship with Apollo whenever he talks back to him.
  • Fitipaldi: A turtle who often has gadgets in his shell.
  • Calixto: A small blue guard dog who guards the farm with Sicto and is the smartest of guard dogs and is often hurt sometimes by Sicto's antics.

  • Mitriani: a moose who show's narrator who usually tells the story of an episode around a group of young animals each episode and often sometimes shows up in the story.
  • Horrendous The main villain of the series. He's a weasel (although it more resembles a wolf) Machiavellian and half unlucky who is always coming up with plans to eat the animals of the farm in which the Ugly lives next to his helper Slippery. Their biggest fear is wolves. He wears a purple top hat, and a bowtie, and has his muzzle bent down.
  • Slippery: Horrendous's bumbling partner. One weasel quite fumbling and not very smart is always helping his "boss" in his plans, although that often spoils everything. Like Horrendous, he is afraid of wolves. He wears a yellow cap and wears blue pants.
