  2. ^ Ash, Andrew, Meg & Paul were condemned to the dungeon by the Traitors – Andrew was saved during the mission by the winning team, leaving Meg as the only player eligible for murder.
  3. ^ After the roundtable in Episode 6, the traitors were told they had to murder someone in plain sight, via ‘The Poisoned Chalice’. They chose Diane, however the poison did not work immediately so Diane was present at breakfast the next morning. The players were told one of them would succumb to the poison after the mission. All players but Diane, Evie and Paul were told they were safe, via clues along the way. At the end, the majority voted Diane the poisoned player and they were correct, gaining the full £7,000 for the prize pot.

Harry Clark—Mollie Pearce dating rumours[edit]

Ellie Harrison of The Independent reported that Clark and Pearce established a "close friendship very quickly [which] allowed Harry to get away with murder".[1] Pearce responded in an interview stating that "people have this fantasy that I fancy Harry, but that is so not true" and that it had been "rubbish" for their partners.[1] She added that she thought it was "crazy, that in this day and age, a boy and a girl can’t be friends without there being romance speculation."[1] Pearce told Cosmopolitan UK that they bonded "massively" because they were the youngest contestants in the series and because there were both in long term relationships.[2] Clark said that they "everyone else had wives and kids" but that they were "sort of, on the same path and had the same feelings of missing our loved person".[2] Pearce's boyfriend is Max Blackwell whereas Clark's girlfriend is children's television presenter Anna Maynard.[2][1] Pearce posted a video on Instagram with Maynard in which she jokingly referred to her as her "new bestie".[3]

In a review of the previous episode Ed Power of The Telegraph stated that Jaz Singh was the only candidate who was not "so easily gulled" by Clark citing a confessional in which he said that he did not trust him.[4] As a result of Singh's suspicions he was given the nickname of "Jazatha Christie" on social media, in reference to English writer Agatha Christie.[4][5] In the final episode of The Traitors: Uncloaked, the aftershow to the series, Singh discussed his reaction to the "Jazatha Christie" memes saying "to be honest, you just don't expect it".[5] Singh did not have Twitter or know who Agatha Christie was until he googled her and so was confused by the nickname.[5] He added in an interview with Virgin Radio that "although I didn't win the cash prize...to feel as though I've won the nation's heart, that means too much to me. I can't even put it into words".[6]

Critical reviews[edit]

Nick Hilton of The Independent gave the episode five stars saying that now that the format of the show was more accepted and critiqued, the show had "mastered a form of perfect imperfection".[7] Hilton pointed out that the game itself made "little to no sense" as the Faithfuls had to deal with two traitors in the final despite managing to successfully detect four Traitors at the roundtables.[7] He added that "it renders the first several rounds of the game essentially pointless" as the strategy of the game continues to be to "lie low, act dumb and hope that lack of suspicion, or intimidation, carries you all the way to the showdown".[7]
