Events.com is an American event management company headquartered in La Jolla, California.[2] It has additional offices in Canada, Italy, Scotland, and Seattle.[3]

Events.com provides a platform for managing event logistics, including registrations, merchandise, sponsorship, and marketing.[2]

History

[edit]

Events.com was co-founded by Mitch Thrower and Stephen Partridge in 2009.[2][4] The name "Events.com" was conceived while the founders were walking down Prospect Street in La Jolla, prompting negotiations with CBS, the original owner of the domain.[2]

In 2019, Events.com relocated its headquarters from Del Mar to La Jolla.[2] In the same year, it invested in Wonderfront Festival.[3]

In August 2022, Events.com acquired Evensi, a platform specializing in event discovery, which utilizes artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning to operate.[5] In December 2022, Events.com received a $100 million capital investment from Global Emerging Markets (GEM) to support its global expansion and growth.[6] In the same year, Events.com acquired Brown Paper Tickets.[7]

In 2024, Events.com became the primary presenter of Wonderfront Festival.[8]

Over the years, Eric Schmidt through Tomorrow Ventures and J. Christopher Burch from Burch Creative Capital have invested in Events.com.[2]
