The Gauda Invasion of Magadha was a military expedition of the Gauda Kingdom onto Magadha which was under the control of the Maukhari Dynasty.[1][2]

Background

[edit]

The internal disintegration in the Maukhari dynasty with Grahavarman ruling in Kannauj and Suva in Magadha. This gave the Gaudas a perfect opportunity to invade and take control of Magadha.[3][4]

Aftermath

[edit]

There are no coins of any Maukhari ruler after suca and it is plausible to say that the gaudas took advantage of the internal feud and took control over Magadha.[3][5][6]
